Infertility

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year. A third of infertility is caused by the woman, a third by the man and a third of the time there is an issue with both partners. Often the male component is overlooked. At Wellness Architecture, we take all of parts into consideration. Sometimes with advanced age or issues like endometriosis, medical intervention is necessary. However, in most cases, issues may be improved or resolved more simply with the help of naturopathic medicine.

There are many things that may delay or prevent conception:

  • Abnormal sperm/low sperm count
  • Blood sugar disorders
  • Endometriosis
  • Incorrect timing of intercourse
  • Lack of ovulation
  • Low progesterone (luteal phase defect)
  • PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)
  • Stress
    Sub-clinical or undiagnosed thyroid disorders
  • Weight (too low/high)

Outside of these issues, there is also unexplained infertility. This is often remedied by treating underlying health issues not commonly associated with fertility such as:

  • Fatigue
  • Poor diet/food sensitivities
  • Poor digestion
  • Toxicity
  • Undiagnosed infections

At Wellness Architecture, we address your whole health and teach you how to take an active role in conception. Please give us a call if you have any questions. We are here to help!

Are you tired?

Are you tired?

If the answer is yes, you’re not alone. I see patients for all kinds of things, but the most common complaint is definitely fatigue. About 90% of the patients I see are tired, if not all day, every day, then every afternoon or evening.

Every wonder why “afternoon tea” came to be? Tea and biscuits? I’m guessing blood sugar disorders and insulin resistance aren’t far off. Almost everyone I ask gets tired in the afternoon. It’s when you’d go for a snack, or that second cup of coffee.

L-Carnitine and Energy for Exercise

L-Carnitine and Energy for Exercise

Carnitine is a biochemical found in nearly every cell in the human body. There are several forms of carnitine (e.g., L-Carnitine, Acetyl L-carnitine), which have been studied for their effects on the heart and brain, the aging process, energy metabolism in the cells, diabetes, infertility and other medical conditions. Our focus is on the role L-Carnitine plays in energy production and metabolism for healthy individuals.

Diary Of A Neurofeedback Newbie: Part 4

Today is August 25th. It’s my eight session and I am looking forward to it. I’m hoping it’ll help me get through the final push to finish my work projects—and packing!—before we leave for Hawaii. I enjoy my time on the table and get up feeling refreshed and refocused. I work steadily for the rest of the day and the following day. Before a trip, I typically operate with the mantra: Ack! There’s so much to do!

Diary Of A Neurofeedback Newbie: Part 3

Saturday, my husband and I went out alone for our anniversary and got to have an uninterrupted adult conversation. As I told him about my neurofeedback experience, his reaction affirmed how profound the change is. We have been married 12 years and known each other for at least 5 more, and I’ve always been stressed.

Diary Of A Neurofeedback Newbie: Part 2

“It was really hot this evening, and I had to make an early dinner in a muggy kitchen and then wait for my daughter at swim practice in the beating sun. Usually this makes me really short tempered, but I managed to keep my cool tonight.”
