Infertility

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year. A third of infertility is caused by the woman, a third by the man and a third of the time there is an issue with both partners. Often the male component is overlooked. At Wellness Architecture, we take all of parts into consideration. Sometimes with advanced age or issues like endometriosis, medical intervention is necessary. However, in most cases, issues may be improved or resolved more simply with the help of naturopathic medicine.

There are many things that may delay or prevent conception:

  • Abnormal sperm/low sperm count
  • Blood sugar disorders
  • Endometriosis
  • Incorrect timing of intercourse
  • Lack of ovulation
  • Low progesterone (luteal phase defect)
  • PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)
  • Stress
    Sub-clinical or undiagnosed thyroid disorders
  • Weight (too low/high)

Outside of these issues, there is also unexplained infertility. This is often remedied by treating underlying health issues not commonly associated with fertility such as:

  • Fatigue
  • Poor diet/food sensitivities
  • Poor digestion
  • Toxicity
  • Undiagnosed infections
