Infertility

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year. A third of infertility is caused by the woman, a third by the man and a third of the time there is an issue with both partners. Often the male component is overlooked. At Wellness Architecture, we take all of parts into consideration. Sometimes with advanced age or issues like endometriosis, medical intervention is necessary. However, in most cases, issues may be improved or resolved more simply with the help of naturopathic medicine.

There are many things that may delay or prevent conception:

  • Abnormal sperm/low sperm count
  • Blood sugar disorders
  • Endometriosis
  • Incorrect timing of intercourse
  • Lack of ovulation
  • Low progesterone (luteal phase defect)
  • PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)
  • Stress
    Sub-clinical or undiagnosed thyroid disorders
  • Weight (too low/high)

Outside of these issues, there is also unexplained infertility. This is often remedied by treating underlying health issues not commonly associated with fertility such as:

  • Fatigue
  • Poor diet/food sensitivities
  • Poor digestion
  • Toxicity
  • Undiagnosed infections

At Wellness Architecture, we address your whole health and teach you how to take an active role in conception. Please give us a call if you have any questions. We are here to help!

Cancer and heart disease often take years to develop. Tissue breakdown and joint degradation is the same. We all know beaches were formed over millions of years. A process of rocks slowly being chipped away to form sand. At one point there is a straw that breaks the camel’s back – and that is when we know it’s there. Disease, in the form of pain or dysfunction. And what do we do to solve the problem? We try to mask the symptoms or attack it, try to kill it or remove it.. Occasionally there may be a drug that is helping to support a healthier process, but most times they come with more side effects than the problems they solve. So, what is the best way to guarantee (at least as close to a guarantee as we can have) staying healthy as we age? And it’s not treating something once it’s taken hold. Here is the number one best time to detox

There are many ways to skin a cat. Such a cliche, but so true. I’ve heard about so many ways and types of detoxing/fasting it’ll make your head spin. I recently heard of sugar-free September. And there is Dry January. There is Lent, Ramadan and Pancha Karma. The Master Cleanse, Whole 30, intermittent fasting and Infrared sauna. There is a liver cleanse, a colon cleanse, a cellular cleanse . They may have different intentions, but they all have an effect on the body. Some work better than others. And different things have different impacts on different people, depending on their toxic load and their current state of health.

So, when is the best time to detox?

You know how kids have temper tantrums? Or they seem to have an inability to handle life the moment they leave school (but they’re pretty good at holding it together until then). You may not be a parent with young kids, or a parent at all, but we’ve all been kids, had siblings or been around kids enough to know what I’m talking about. And the truth is, adults are not much different than kids when it comes to what they need to handle the daily stresses of life. Three questions to ask yourself when it comes to your mood or someone else’s.
